When spring arrives, the daffodil waits patiently for the other flowers to arrive. For this reason, it is thought that daffodil symbolises chivalry or respect. The daffodil is the national flower of Wales, associated with Saint David's Day, the 1st of March. In the East, the daffodil represents wealth and good fortune.

MJ Paik was born in South Korea where she studied fine art and design. During her studies she travelled to New Zealand, where she fell in love with the beautiful landscape and lifestyle.
While working as a shoe designer and determined to return, she booked a one way ticket to Aotearoa to make it home. After completion of her training at Peter Minturn Goldsmith School in Auckland, she developed her skills by designing and making jewellery in Auckland and Melbourne.
Winter in July jewellery is handcrafted using centuries-old traditional fabrication and lost wax casting techniques, and is 100% New Zealand designed and made.
