Nick has been creating jewellery for 25 years, and in 2009 the ‘Nick Von K’ brand was born - the name in memory of Nick’s grandfather, Peter Von Klarwill - “For me he encapsulated a fabled air of old European aristocratic art and culture that has always inspired me”. Most of 2010 was spent designing and producing NVK’s first-ever collection, Nick started making pieces in sterling silver for the first time and ended up with 80 designs - “It was a huge offering and you could see I’d poured my heart and soul into it”. Launching at NZ Fashion Week, Nick Von K was picked up by an international designer who supplied pieces internationally - which in turn launched the brand in Aotearoa, kick starting the journey.
Since 2011, Nick Von K has been based at their studio in La Gonda Arcade on Karangahape Road - with a showroom and studio space combined, for customers to come and explore the range in person and discover the craftsmanship of this iconic jewellery brand.
