"I’ve heard acts of kindness spread faster than a virus.  Whether it’s someone not saying hello to you in the street or a bad conversation, the aim of this piece is to focus on trying not to take someone’s challenging situation personally…”it’s not your shit, be kind”.  The Tui represents the negative chatter that goes on in your head if you think you’ve done something wrong, the rose with thorns to represent the hurt. The phone is the interaction between you and the person and the wise owl (Morepork) to remind us to Be Kind."

Angie Dennis

Angie Dennis, originally from the UK, has been living in NZ since 1998 and painting professionally since 2002. Her works showcase the vibrant beauty of Aotearoa, with a focus on indigenous flora and fauna. She's completely self-taught and began her creative journey in her garage at home. Now, she has a lovely studio space in Auckland where she continues to create beautiful collections, which we're delighted to share.
