The O’Brien Collective

Nick, Amanda, Harrison and Finlay make up the collective of O’Brien’s - based in beautiful Kinloch, near Taupō. As a family they have a passion for exploring Aotearoa, getting outdoors and enjoying nature ! Nick and Amanda met in 2005, and would often be road tripping to various places around the North Island. Not long after Harri was born, they moved from Taupo to Hamilton, and in 2018 began the journey towards living the van life. The ‘original’ NZ Scratch Map was created in early 2020, when looking for a fun way to keep track of their travels with the kids. Not able to find anything, they decided to come up with their own version. Now back in Taupo, Amanda is a stay at home mum, while Nick works the 9 to 5, as they work on a bus conversion to house their growing family. Since then, they’ve developed more maps with different themes, celebrating Aotearoa and what Kiwis love to do in our great outdoors !
