We are so excited to have a new piece of Kathryn Furniss to grace our walls!
Tui's Gift is reminiscent of Kathryn Furniss' older pieces, such as Calling Me Back. In Tui's Gift, an oar makes an appearance beneath the Tūī. Kathryn has previously recalled that she uses oars to "represent travel to and from far off places we have been, whether in reality or in our dreams". The beautiful Tūī is pictured at the forefront of a gorgeous blue and green-toned mountainous region. Our stunning native Kōwhai makes an appearance as well, pictured dangling at the very front of the landscape, alongside a butterfly wing.
We hope you love Kathryn's newest piece at Creative & Brave as much as we do!

Kathryn resides in Nelson with her husband where they raised their two sons.
Bought up by an artistic father she was encouraged to explore her natural creative abilities. As a self taught artist she draws her inspiration from pacific landscape, objects and native birds working in acrylics with layers of colour and texture to give the viewer a feel of depth.
In the past 13 years Kathryn has had numerous successful exhibitions throughout NZ and internationally.
