These elegant earrings are made from test-tube glass, which means they are really light and super-strong. Three marks are pressed into the glass on the blowtorch creating a beautiful play of light.
Every piece of Wearing Glass is individually crafted to order, so each pair of earrings will be truly unique. Due to the handmade nature, every piece is different and products may vary slightly from images shown.

For Isla Osborne, Wearing Glass started as a part time creative adventure and has developed into a full time passion for creating hand-made glass works. Each piece of jewellery is totally unique, as every piece is made by sculpting molten glass using a blowtorch powered with oxygen and natural gas, and beads are made one at a time, thus every piece of glass tells a story."Lampworking is an ancient and magical process, with a chemistry that borders on alchemy and as an artist I find its lure irresistible."
Isla lived and worked in London for 10 years, exhibiting internationally before returning to Aotearoa in 2007 to start a family - where the traditional glass studio she works out of is now based, in Grey Lynn. As well as being a family business, the team individually hand-crafts products using techniques that date back thousands of years, and Isla is proud to keep this ancient tradition alive for the next generation of craftspeople.
