Ko maru kai atu
Ko maru kai mai ka ngohengohe
-give as well as take and all is well-

Every cushion is a one-off and completely hand made using upcycled wool blankets, and salvaged material. Measure approx 36cm x 36cm, comes with an inner.

Te Huia are members (mostly Kuia) of Taumaranui Iwi who hand-stitch upcycled blanket cushions to help fundraise for scholarships for their rangatahi. Most recently Te Huia have also contributed to an Iwi initiated public housing project in Taumaranui. We are thrilled to offer them a platform to sell their one of a kind cushions. The cushions have so far helped a large number of youth gain NCEA and important life skills through the Inzone project. The Inzone Education Foundation is a New Zealand registered charitable trust that aims to enhance the educational outcomes of rurally based Maori youth. They achieve this through providing young Maori students the opportunity to access high performing state schools by establishing hostels within the school zones.
