Art has been a lifetime journey for Irina Velman, she has travelled widely, all the way from her native Russia, to settle in beautiful Waitakere, West Auckland. “It is a very special place where the nature is beautiful, powerful, and the people are friendly and creative, the art community is flourishing, you simply can’t run out of inspiration here!” Working mostly with acrylics, Irina’s painting has grown from her hobby, to an escape and now a profession - she creates her striking landscapes and portraits of native birds from photographing her neighbourhood, and using these as inspiration she produces distinctively vibrant works that are instantly recognisable and so loved here at Creative & Brave.
