Tānekaha, Celery Pine Leaf Necklace - Sterling Silver

An intriguing leaf shaped necklace influenced by the Celery Pine tree or Tānekaha. Cleverly cast in sterling silver from a handmade original carving by Tania. Finished with a sterling silver chain and clasp.

This necklace has a lovely weight to it and much like Tania's other jewellery pieces is designed with comfort at the forefront. The detail has been hand etched and the shape of the leaf sits beautifully against the chest.

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver. The alloy composition results in a metal that is very durable and long lasting. Sterling silver is easily polished using a polishing cloth. Tania Mallow jewellery is certified sterling silver.

Tania Mallow has had a passion for jewellery ever since the age of nine - with a fascination for creating small things when she used to potter in her Dad’s garage with bits of wire and beads, often re-creating existing jewellery pieces into something new. Tania began her jewellery making path in earnest after completing a full time course in 2000. She went on to work in the Jewellery industry for a further 10 years during which time she gained knowledge and skills in traditional jewellery making and gold smithing - going on to set up her own jewellery business back in 2006. Her work is particularly inspired by the shapes and textures of New Zealand nature and she introduces these elements into each of her designs. “I love seeing a piece of Jewellery come to fruition. From an idea scribbled on a scrap of paper to forming it and eventually giving it a final polish, is a really fun process” Tania works out of her home studio situated in Beachlands, Auckland where each piece of jewellery is carefully handcrafted to perfection.
