The Mount Cook lily is one of the most iconic flowers in New Zealand's Southern Alps. This delicate looking flower is almost indestructible - it can withstand extreme wind and rain. The cup-like leaves can hold rain water, and trampers sometimes stop to have a drink from them.
The Mount Cook lily is actually not a lily, but is in fact the largest buttercup in the world.
