Kairava

After studying ceramic design in her home country of Germany, Kairava moved to New Zealand in 1997 where she has enjoyed a successful career spanning over 40 years as a ceramicist and ceramic teacher. Kairava has participated in exhibitions which have earned her ceramic awards, she has also tutored at various studios for almost 20 years, and her own studio in West Auckland is now open for students too – where she teaches pottery and clay sculpting. Since her move to New Zealand, Kairava draws inspiration from the beautiful nature of Auckland’s West Coast.
